Things I’m Loving Now, November 2016 Edition

img_2220Happy end-of-November. I almost didn’t make it with this post, but I have too many things I am loving right now not to get it out there to you before the month is officially over! So here we go. . .

This class on moving your body during the holidays. Healthy Moving coach Jen Hoffman is a dear friend, but I have to tell you that her approach to health and movement is revolutionizing my life. This free class for beginners is a wonderful way to “weave movement into your life,” as Jen says. No major time demands, no special gear–just simple, effective ways to add movement in the midst of everything you’re already doing. You’ll feel so good!

my-book-houseMy Book House. This out-of-print series of children’s books, edited by Olive Beaupre Miller, is a gem. L and I are enjoying every page. Beautifully illustrated and filled with classic poetry and prose, we look forward to reading aloud a little of this each day. Used copies abound; try Amazon’s marketplace or abebooks.com.

the-crownThe Crown. I happened upon this Netflix original series a couple of weeks ago completely by chance, and I’m so glad I did. I’m a confessed anglophile, and 20th century Brit history is something I can never get enough of. The cast and screenwriting are stellar, not to mention John Lithgow’s portrayal of Winston Churchill. Five enthusiastic stars.

Scentsicles. It probably seems silly, but this year we went with an artificial tree, and the one thing I really miss is the real tree smell. So I bought some of these and I love them! It smells like we have a real tree in the house!

savorybreakfastpudding1-1My friend Sarah’s Savory Croissant Breakfast Pudding. L begs for this. It’s the perfect make-ahead breakfast when you have company visiting, and I swear to you, I’ve never met a more delicious breakfast casserole. Put it on your holiday menu.

untitled-1Mere Motherhood by Cindy Rollins. Cindy is well-known in the homeschooling community, and her memoir about raising nine children–eight boys and a girl–is worth a read for any mom. Cindy’s matter-of-fact recounting of the messes and miracles of motherhood is both encouraging and hilarious. This is my reigning favorite book on motherhood. Just don’t look to Amazon for a copy–it’s only available from Circe Institute, the publisher. *Update: Mere Motherhood is 20% off today, Dec. 1! Click here to see the sale.

Well, friends, that’s it from me this month. What are you loving right now? Leave a comment and tell me your current favorite books, music, shortcuts, recipes, projects–whatever is helping you do life better, with more joy and peace.

Blessings,

Harmony
