Episode 0: Meet the Relatable Homeschoolers

Welcome to The Relatable Homeschoolers podcast. We’re so excited you’re here! In this first episode, you’ll meet Harmony Harkema, Annie Carlson, Heather Gerwing, and Lindsay Hufford, four moms with very different homeschools. Whether you’re a veteran homeschooler, new to homeschooling, or just homeschool-curious, we want to encourage you on your journey.

Harmony, Annie, Heather, and Lindsay have known each other for several years and have been apart of a Mastermind writing group for a couple of years. Over the summer, when we were on a Zoom call, we all mentioned how we were receiving a lot of questions about homeschooling. Beth, the fifth person in our Mastermind, who does not homeschool, encouraged us to start this podcast.

Thus, The Relatable Homeschoolers Podcast was created!

Our hope through these podcasts is that we will encourage you in the midst of your homeschooling journey. We’re not perfect, we might not have all the answers, but we are here to help! We have a combined 30+ years of homeschooling, and we approach it in different ways. We want to support you and be there for you! Homeschooling is hard, but you don’t need to go it alone!

To learn more about each of us, check out our About Page, where you can read our bio’s and links to our websites and social media pages.

In this episode, we’re talking about:

  • How we became homeschoolers
  • What has kept us homeschooling over the years
  • Why homeschooling works for our families

  1. Thank you so much for doing this!
I’m definitely sharing this with a newly formed group in our town for people considering homeschooling this year.

  2. Fantastic! I’ve already shared with a new-to-homeschooling working mom who was asking if doing both is even possible.

  3. Thank you!
Even after a quick perusal I can see this is full of valuable information and resources. I’m so glad you’ve taken the time to do this. As a veteran homeschooler I still need encouragement to stay the course, fresh resources and a reminder of old ones I had forgotten, and I’m thrilled to have a place to point new people considering the journey as well. This is gold for such a time as this.

    1. Thank you so much for sharing this, Charlene! It’s so good to know we are also reaching veteran homeschoolers with encouragement! ♥️
