Busy Mom Survival: 5 Favorite Crock-Pot Dinners
Many of the comments I’ve gotten since I’ve been posting my weekly dinner menu have revolved around the ability to use your Crock-Pot. I totally understand why – fall is busy. There’s back-to-school and extracurricular activities, and even if you’re a stay-at-home mom, there’s just so much to do. And the kind of cozy, comforting food that comes out of a crock pot is perfect when the weather moves into rainy days and cooler temperatures.
I’ve put together a Crock-Pot round up for you, of my five favorite recipes. Four of the five have been on my site a long time, and are among the recipes that get the most hits and the most re-pins on Pinterest. They’re tried and true. All are dairy-free and gluten-free; the sandwich fillings just need to be served on gluten-free buns.
Here they are, complete with links to the recipes:
Homemade Sloppy Joes. Better than anything you can get out of a can or box. A potluck bullseye every time, too.
Moroccan Chicken. One of our long-time faves, I just posted this on the blog yesterday – in time to add it to this recipe round-up. The kids will love it as much as you do.
Chicago-style Italian Beef. This spicy sandwich filling will make your whole house smell fantastic. The perfect warm-up after a day outside in the brisk air.
Sunday Night Pasta Sauce. Not just for Sundays.
Slow-cooked Southern-style Barbecue. This one is versatile – works with pork, beef, venison, or even chicken. Perfect with some cool coleslaw alongside. A hit year-round.
