Description

This three-hour workshop is for Girl Scout troops or small groups of girls wanting to learn to machine sew, hand sew, knit, or embroider. To submit a placeholder registration, please fill out the form below and submit. Cost per girl varies depending on the workshop focus (sewing, knitting, or embroidery) and project choice (cost of materials differs).

Sewing

Introduce your girls to the lifelong skill of sewing! Discover sewing machine safety and how to use machines in a hands-on learning environment. Learn foundational techniques and create a new project to take home.

Knitting

Knit one, Purl one! Discover knitting with a workshop where girls will learn and practice this timeless skill. Starting with a simple swatch, girls will earn how to cast on, knit, purl, and manage the tension of the yarn. Girls will then begin working on a take-home project such as a beanie cap! Each student receives knitting needles, a skein of yarn, and patterns.

Embroidery

Embroidery art can be traced back to 30,000 BC and continues to thrive as a popular, beautiful fiber art. Girls will learn stitch techniques and practice their skills on their own embroidery hoops. Each student receives embroidery floss, a hoop, and a project to take home.
