Charlotte Mason Grand Rapids’ core event is our parents’ Tertulia.

What is a tertulia? It is a Spanish word that refers to a social gathering, often with literary or artistic overtones, where people come together to discuss various topics. It can be a formal or informal meeting, sometimes taking place in a café.

CMGR’s Tertulia meets on the first Thursday of the month (except in January), September through May, to discuss the writings of Charlotte Mason and The Parents’ Review. We meet in the café at Schuler Books on 28th Street just east of Breton. All parents who are interested in pursuing a Charlotte Mason education in their homes are welcome. No children, please, except nursing infants.

The 2025-26 Tertulia reading schedule of School Education by Charlotte Mason is as follows. Parents’ Review articles will be assigned month by month and posted in our Facebook Group.
